Excellent summary of rational evidences for the Book of Mormon while still maintaining that a testimony of the book must be gained through the holy ghost.
I devoured this impactful book in about six hours and promptly purchased additional copies for family and friends. I volunteer as Executive Director of the non-profit think tank Book of Mormon Central, cited frequently herein. Elder Callister is up-to-date with his scholarship, but this work goes well beyond narrow scholarly interests. It is a good balance between certitude and polemic, spiritual and intellectual, doctrinal and narrative. The personal and third-party stories are superb. Elder Callister spent 34 years as a tax attorney, and his logical, precise thinking shows through on every page. His writing is eloquent but endearing and approachable. He tackles some hard problems, working through the issues clearly and persuasively. And he bears a powerful personal testimony. If you enjoyed Elder Callister's superb address "God's Compelling Witness: The Book of Mormon" in October, 2017 General Conference, you will love this book.
The author, Tad R. Callister, is a General Authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has written 3 other books that I highly recommend. "The Infinite Atonement" is easily the best exposition of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and what that means. His other books on apostasy and Church organization are not far behind. In this book he explores the miraculous and superb Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Christ.This is not a commentary on the Book of Mormon, nor is it an exposition of its doctrines. Rather this book documents and categorizes the support from multiple sources of the veracity of the Book of Mormon - a foundational scripture of the Church of Jesus Christ.Callister starts out by noting that the book itself is the best way to determine the value and truth of the book. He notes that either the book is what it says it is or it is a fraud. There is no middle ground. Basically the same argument that CS Lewis and others make for Christianity in general.In Part 2, the author takes common criticisms and responds to them. One criticism that has been used in the past (but not so much now with all the general support for the milieu of the Book of Mormon) are supposed anachronisms - modern things put into ancient settings where they don't belong. There really aren't any that stand up on examination.Another criticism has been the inclusion of some things not known about New World Civilizations. Time after time, things that were felt to be from the imagination of Joseph Smith, founding Prophet of the restored Church of Jesus Christ, turned out to be true. There really is no explanation other than Smith really was a Prophet who really did translate the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God. Cement in the America's thousands of years ago turned out to be true as were many other statements such as the existence of horses and barley.Then there is a section on the incredible doctrine of Jesus Christ that could only be from divine sources. There are several chapters on the undeniably rock-solid testimonies of the multiple witnesses of the gold plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated.The last part of the book is a challenge and listing of ways to prove the book to the individual. In the end, one becomes a follower of Christ mostly through inspiration more than archaeological or historical proofs. So it is with the Book of Mormon.5 stars for an excellent survey of the many categories of evidence for the veracity of the Book of Mormon and how to find out for yourself that it is a modern scriptural testimony of the Christ.

In this book, Tad Callister responds in detail to arguments advanced by critics of the Book of Mormon, presents substantial evidence of many critics’ biases, explores compelling evidence that the Book of Mormon is true, and most importantly explores the spiritual value of the book, showing how it testifies of Christ, restores lost doctrine, corrects doctrinal errors, changes our hearts, and draws us to Christ. Finally, he explains why a testimony of the Book of Mormon can only be acquired by personal revelation through the Holy Ghost and how a person can obtain that witness. It is a book for sincere seekers of truth. I have wished for it for many years. Now Tad Callister has written it.
